Use the same reporting basis and date range as the conversions.
Optional target used to estimate the conversion gap. Use 0 if unknown.

How this tool works

Conversion rate shows the share of clicks or interactions that became conversions. The calculator divides conversions by interactions and compares the result with an optional target rate.

Formula or template logic

conversionRate = (conversions / interactions) * 100; conversionsPerThousandInteractions = (conversions / interactions) * 1000; targetConversions = interactions * (targetConversionRate / 100); conversionGap = targetConversions - conversions

Example use case

If 50 conversions came from 1,000 clicks, conversion rate is 5%. With a 7% target on the same traffic, you would need 20 additional conversions.

Frequently asked questions

What is conversion rate?

Conversion rate is conversions divided by clicks or interactions, expressed as a percentage.

Can conversion rate be above 100%?

In some ad platforms it can be above 100% if more than one conversion is counted for each interaction.

Should I use clicks or sessions?

Use the denominator that matches your reporting source. For ads, clicks or ad interactions are common. For site analytics, sessions or users may be more relevant.

Is a higher conversion rate always better?

Usually it is better, but it should be judged with traffic quality, revenue, CPA, and ROAS.

Why include a target rate?

A target rate makes it easier to estimate how many more conversions are needed from the same traffic.
